We have recently completed the manufacturing and commissioning of several weighing lifting devices for a major steelmaking facility in Spain.
Beyond the equipment supplied, this project reflects a reality that we encounter increasingly often in industry: companies are not simply looking for a supplier of weighing systems. They need a partner capable of understanding their production process, identifying where weight data can add value, and developing a solution tailored to their operational and maintenance requirements.
Everything starts with a conversation.
A maintenance, production or engineering manager contacts us because there is a specific need. In some cases, the objective is to replace an obsolete weighing system. In others, it may be to improve the reliability of process data, enhance material traceability, or incorporate new load handling and control operations.
Our sales team carries out an initial data-gathering process to understand the operating environment, working conditions, loads involved, applicable regulatory requirements and the objectives of the installation.
From that point onwards, our sales and engineering teams work together.
We analyse the complete industrial process to understand where weighing is involved and how it impacts day-to-day operations. In demanding industries such as steelmaking, accurately determining the weight of materials, semi-finished products and handled loads makes it possible to optimise processes, improve operational safety, reduce incidents and provide reliable information for decision-making.
Every installation has its own specific requirements: high temperatures, harsh operating environments, intensive duty cycles, space restrictions or specific integration requirements with existing systems.
For this reason, designing the solution is not simply a matter of selecting a piece of equipment. It involves assessing the operating environment, defining the most suitable configuration, validating its technical feasibility and planning an implementation that causes minimum disruption to production.
Once the project has been approved, manufacturing, assembly and commissioning begin.
Throughout this stage, we work in close coordination with the plant’s management and technical teams to ensure that the installation is completed according to the agreed schedule and meets all operational and performance requirements.
However, for us, the project does not end when the equipment starts operating.
The reliability of an industrial weighing system depends to a great extent on how it is monitored and maintained over time. This is why we support our customers through preventive maintenance programmes, periodic inspections, calibration and verification, and servicing adapted to each organisation’s internal quality procedures.
This approach helps ensure weighing accuracy, extend equipment service life and minimise the risk of downtime or deviations that could affect the production process.
